The Aachen region has good news. In 2008 the market for regional business sites was the best since 2006 and the second best since the beginning of the monitoring of these business sites — 81.6 hectares were issued, spread over 98 lots. The demand this year in Heinsberg and Düren led with 30.9 and 17.9 hectares respectively. The district of Heinsberg was close with 30.7 hectares and 21 hectares for the logistics center, which played an important role; 8.5 and 7.9 went in Weilerswist (Kreis Euskirchen) and Düren in this branch and both achieved the top figures last year.
More than half of the land made available in the last six years was closer than 5km to the nearest highway exit and only 14% were more than 10km away from their clients. For the first time there is an overview of the market for a period of six years because the systematic coverage of this market has been active for this period.
