On Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 November, Maastricht Debates is organizing Global 2009, a two-day event with film, music and culinary interludes on one central theme: Europe, money, and development. On November 17 the ambassador of the Philippines and the secretary of the Pearl of Africa Foundation will be guests. On November 18, Karel de Gucht, the European Commissioner for Development and former minister of foreign affairs, will talk to the public. The debates are in English and open to the general public.
AINSI is a building on the edge of the city and it stands for Art, Industry, Nature, Society, and Innovation; it’s in one of the old ENCI quarrying and cement works buildings to the south of Maastricht.
