The first six months of 2010 show an increase of new businesses in the Maastricht Region. In comparison to the same period in 2009 almost 19% more new businesses have started, concludes the website www.ondernemersunited.nl (entrepreneurs united). Leading the region in absolute numbers is Maastricht with 426 starting businesses, 14% more than last year. Sittard shows an impressive 45% increase with 148 starters.
This increase in new businesses and economic welfare isn't only noticeable in the Maastricht Region. The Industrie- und Handelskammer Aachen, a 20 minutes drive from Maastricht, also shows an interesting increase of 29% new business until April 2010.
