Introducing the Chemelot Newsletter

16-12-2009 om 12:06 by Maastricht Region Branding Foundation

‘Change’ is a quality our region can be most proud of. Ger Wagemans, Director Chemelot: “Our ability to change has led us to being a player in a field that carries a lot of challenges and opportunities. Chemelot has changed from coal mining to advanced biomedical materials, to mention just an example. With success. Chemelot is host to several companies that are global leaders in their market segments. Over the last six months, six companies and institutions have ‘relocated their thinking’ to Chemelot in Geleen.” These and other developments will be covered in the Chemelot Newsletter.

Awareness

Ger Wagemans continues: “Chemelot is the growth engine for the region, it is a growth engine for chemistry, more in particular for Material Sciences and Life Sciences. These are market segments that are designated to substantially improve the competitive position of our national economy. Furthermore, chemistry is an exciting business. It touches the lives of many, in many different ways. That’s why the story about Chemelot reads like an adventure.”

Common goals

“With the Chemelot Newsletter we will share this adventure with you,” Wagemans says. “Sometimes in-depth, as about the R&D for new, sustainable materials like EcoPaXX. Sometimes touching upon wider developments of open innovation, cradle to cradle, new revolutionary technologies or the growing teamwork between entrepreneurs and knowledge institutes. Accessible, for a wide range of readers: site residents, tenants and suppliers, public servants, neighbours, press and everyone else who’s somehow interested in Chemelot. To follow the developments and pick anything that might help to achieve our common goals. To stimulate interaction and to expand the success of the Chemelot community.”

This newsletter will be published five or six times a year in Dutch and English. Capturing some of the highlights in the email and offering additional reading on the Internet. We hope this newsletter will lead to improved interaction, helping to speed up change and economical growth.

Tell a friend

Feel free to subscribe to the Chemelot Newsletter to make sure you will receive the next editions; it’s free of charge.
