During a busy symposium held in 2008 to mark the 25th anniversary of Maastricht Culinair, it was decided to focus on Maastricht as a gastronomic capital. A requirement for the plan would be to work on as large as scale as possible, both in terms of the restaurants, suppliers and producers and the press, to inform the world of the high quality of Maastricht’s gastronomy. Within a year the first objectives have been met, and as of July 1 the following new members joined Maastricht Culinair:
Restaurant Au Coin des Bons Enfants, Maastricht
Restaurant The Harbour Club, Maastricht
Restaurant Vanille, Eijsden
Wijngaard De Apostelhoeve, Maastricht
The Bisschopsmolen in Maastricht also joined, and this is the oldest water mill still working with a bakery in the heart of the city.
In November 2009 the new Maastricht Restaurant Guide for 2009/2010 including the new members will be presented.
