Life’s pleasures surely include the Preuvenemint, a four-day culinary festival on the Vrijthof Square in Maastricht. It is held annually on the last full weekend of August. This year it ran from 2009 is held from Thursday august 27 through today, Sunday August 30.
There were 40 stands and a pre-session tasting revealed the 2-star (Michelin) Beluga stand serving rather superior hotdogs, while Manjefiek stuck to oysters and lobster with Champers. Everyone was there and their pictures made the society pages of the national –though not local press the next day. Even Korea was represented with Kimchi – spiced cabbage and Bulgogi –marinated beef.
